What a remap does for a diesel Ford Mondeo II
Modern diesels are held back by conservative factory calibrations. A remap updates the fuel and boost maps stored in the ECU, which is why drivers notice stronger acceleration from low revs and less need to change down on hills or when loaded.
How the Ford Mondeo II 2.0 TDdi 90 compares
Of the 5 diesel Mondeo II engines in our data, this one comes 4th for power gain, which is exactly the Mondeo II diesel average.
Across our whole catalogue the average diesel remap adds 34 bhp and 73 Nm, so this engine's 28 bhp and 55 Nm sits below that benchmark.
